Janine Benyus: Biomimicry Is Innovation Inspired By Nature | Fast CompanyPosted: November 21, 2011
Check out this great article on biomimicry from Fast Company:
Biomimicry is the inspiration for the ‘innovation rainforest’ concept: we realized that successful innovation economies are made up of people that interact in a collaborative, positive-sum way, just like species in a rainforest. Silicon Valley has an incredibly rich ‘biodiversity’ of ideas, talent and capital all working together in a dynamic, trust-based network.
Incidentally, biomimicry also inspired our portfolio company Biomatrica to develop their groundbreaking biostability technology that can securely store sensitive biomaterials without refridgeration.
